I cherish my work in assisting people find their path and improve their relationships to get their lives back on track.
My undergraduate degree is from Colorado State University where I graduated "with distinction". I then earned my Masters Degree at San Diego State University, and went on to complete my Doctorate in Psychology at the University of New Mexico which is accredited by the American Psychological Association. While being oriented toward the scientific and evidence-based foundations of psychology, I am also invested in broader issues of human nature, culture, and spiritual well-being.
After my doctorate, I completed a Fellowship at UC San Francisco in the Department of Psychiatry where I was honored with the R.E. Harris Award for Outstanding Fellow in Clinical Psychology. More recently I participated in advanced training in psychotherapy through the Institute of Contemporary Psychoanalysis - Bay Area. I am Past President of both the Santa Clara County and San Mateo County Psychological Associations. In 2016, I won the Alice Handley-Isaksen Forensics Psychologists Award from the Santa Clara County Psychological Association. I was a member of the California Psychological Association Ethics Committee from 2016 to 2022. I also teach psychotherapy and theory for the Psychiatry Residency Training Program at San Mateo County Mental Health Services where I won the Outstanding Faculty Service Award in 2010.
